Read All About It.

If you’re tired of blogs posting mp3s from Sufjan Stevens‘s Christmas albums, here’s something a little different. Recently Stevens participated, with Rick Moody and Wesley Stace, in a literary event organized by the PEN American Center. Clicking on Stevens’s name on the page I linked to will lead you to a 13 minute mp3 of his performance at the event. Good stuff, right? I don’t care for Stevens as a person but he is a solid composer. Consider it a holiday present from me. And from the PEN American.

Here are some literary events happening in the near and distant future that I’m looking forward to in 2008:

Jeffrey Eugenides – Speaking at the Barnes & Noble near Lincoln Center on January 10 @ 7:30.

PEN World Voices 2008 – April 29 to May 4

MoCCA 2008 – June 7 + 8

Brooklyn Book Festival – September 14

It’s still too early for any of these festivals to have their programming ready, but obviously you should check back.
